Andrew Armitage is the founder and owner of A Digital, a digital agency based in the north west of England. Working with clients including the NHS, Hawkshead Relish, Windermere Lake Cruises and most recently James Cropper plc, he has grown A Digital from a spare bedroom into a thriving team of 6 employees.

Professional Background

Andrew graduated from the University of Central Lancashire in 2001 with a BA in Business Studies. Having been fascinated with technology from a young age, his career began just as the Internet and world wide web began to impact on our society.

Having worked in roles for ExxonMobil and BAE Systems, Andrew had seen this 'new' technology being applied in corporate environments and immediately saw how the web would have a massive impact on our lives. He'd also seen how there were many missed opportunities on the web, and it was this passion to deliver something better that would make a tangible difference to people's jobs and lives that drove him to start A Digital (or Armitage Online as it was back then) in 2009.

Andrew believes that for people to have meaning in their work and to make an impact, they need the best tools that are designed for their workflows and the way they work. This enables people to be more productive, and focus their energy into delivering more value, purpose and impact.


Outside of work, Andrew loves to be outside. Living on the edge of the Lake District provides the perfect opportunity for him and his family to enjoy the great outdoors, whether that's walking or mountain biking across open fells or windswept beaches.
